ABOUT BRETBY GAMMATECH

Bretby Gammatech Ltd was formed back in May 1994 as a result of the privatisation of British Coal's coal quality monitoring team. Prior to May 1994 all our directors worked for British Coal. During the 1980's we successfully developed the Ram Feed Coal Quality Monitor (RFCQM) (now obsolete but still in everyday operation at two collieries) and the Natural Gamma Coal Quality Monitor (NGCQM), now improved and rebranded as the Ash Eye. From about 1988 on, we installed many of these monitors in the UK coal mines. Upon the privatisation of the British Coal collieries the installed base was such that a service company was required to maintain the monitors. Bretby Gammatech was formed to fill that market need.
Over the past decade there has been a continuing steady decline in the number of UK collieries. During this time we have been actively promoting our products in the main coal producing countries around the world.

We have also developed several new and improved products using Natural Gamma Technology. These include the Ash Probe and Lab Ash as well as the recently introduced Heat Eye.
Directors receive Trade Partners UK Best Newcomer award for Export
The development of the Ash Probe was initially prompted by two of our customers who had a requirement for measuring the ash content of coal deliveries. The first was a power station buying truck loads of coal from small mines and the second was a blending plant buying various coals to blend to produce a consistent power station fuel.
Paul Taylor and agent representatives at Lexington Coal Prep. exhibition In addition to manufacturing these monitors we also provide a comprehensive Support Service. We have maintenance contracts with the majority of our UK customers.

These contracts include some or all of the following services depending upon the needs of the customer: routine performance monitoring (to ISO/DIS 15239) with monthly reporting, calibrations, repair call-outs and factory refurbishment.
